SALARY RANGE: Up to £44-50,000 (pro rata for part-time)

Youth Legal is a London-based charity dedicated to providing free legal advice, representation, and advocacy services to young people facing social, economic, and legal challenges. Our mission is to empower young individuals by ensuring they have access to the legal resources and support they need to navigate complex legal systems and protect their rights. We work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local communities, schools, legal professionals, and policymakers, to create a more equitable and just society for all young people.
Role Overview:
The Director will be the strategic and operational leader of the Youth Legal and
Resource Centre. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Director will be responsible for driving Youth Legal’s vision, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the
sustainability and growth of our services. The ideal candidate will have a deep
commitment to social justice, extensive experience in the non-profit sector, and a
proven track record in legal services, youth advocacy, or related fields.

POST: Housing/Community Care Caseworker
SALARY: Up to £36,335 depending on experience (pro rata)
HOURS: 35 hours a week (full-time permanent post)
ANNUAL LEAVE: 30 days plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time)
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Senior Solicitor, Director, Board of Trustees
LINE MANAGED BY: Senior Solicitor

The post holder will be required to work 5 days a week and to work hybrid, at the Youth Legal offices at least 3 days a week and remotely from home from 10am-6:00pm. Youth Legal currently operates Legal Aid Agency contracts in housing and community care.
MAIN OBJECTIVES:
•To provide advice, casework and representation in the category of housing and/or community care law
• To ensure the quality of legal advice is of a high standard
• To manage the organisation of their casework
• To have experience in legal aid work and billing legal aid
• Be able to demonstrate commitment to legal aid work and social welfare law
• To have good knowledge and experience of civil litigation procedure
